Definitely not got the job, as I didn’t even get interviewed. Turned up twenty minutes early to the place I was meant to be and was told to take a seat, which I dutifully did. About a dozen people were already there, which I presumed was because they’d each gotten their own individual time to come, which I didn’t put much thought into as obviously a lot of people would be after it. I sat there reading up on some stuff about the company and a few notes I’d taken about the usual shit they ask you about for at this kind of thing: tell me about yourself, a time you handled an upset customer, a time you worked as part of a team, the usual pish. Twenty minutes passed, I didn’t see anyone getting taken. Forty minutes passed, only one had gone. An hour killed, and a very apologetic redhead is telling us to hold on a little bit longer. After waiting for an hour and a half I left. Were it earlier in the day I would have nipped out and bought a paper and sat in there all day if I had to, especially if there was an actual interviewer in the room. But the office itself was due to close, and I’d rather walk out than be sent away. And why the hell were we made to report to one place just for a fucking phone interview? At one point I was going to stay then I overheard one guy asking if it could be rearranged for another day as he had to go do whatever getting told that this was the probably the only day they would be interviewing for the position.
Fairly pissed off, thought I maybe caught a break, but it’s back to hunting again. Ho hum.
