Your views on gay marriage.
Some people don’t like other people being gay, and I’ve yet to find someone who can give a logical, satisfactory answer why. The handful of people I’ve met who have at one point or another decided to go into a rant against all the poofs in the land can’t seem to give one good reason why gay people are, simply, the worst. I’ve asked them why, and discovered that if you keep asking that wonderful question you eventually hit one or more of three answers: it’s disgusting, it’s in the bible, or just because. Or just because it’s disgusting and it’s in the bible. For the sake of full disclosure I’m not gay, never toyed with it, never been confused. It’s not my cup of tea, but I’ve no problem with those who are, as I’ve found that by and large my ringpiece is safe from marauding cocks. Though those that decide to come out and develop a serious case of “Have gay, will mince” overnight I take issue with. Be yourself, cunts.
But back to those answers, starting with disgusting. So? You don’t like it, why does that make those who do somehow bad people? It’s not as if it’s being inflicted on anyone, it’s easier to avoid than awkwardly bumping into someone you used to know in the supermarket and aren’t sure if you should say hello or ignore them. There’s not a great deal of gay sex happening in the middle of the high street, even less on TV, and unless you wander into the middle of a gay club you could go years without seeing two men kissing or holding hands. Quite simply, unless you’re looking, it’s not in your life. And what harm does it do exactly? Sweet fuck all to anyone.
Next is “just because.” This one especially annoys me because if you’re going to complain about something as deep-rooted (arf) as the very sexuality of a large number of people and judge them solely on that fact then you better have at least some sort of retarded fucking excuse. Some seem to think that you can’t possibly be straight without being anti-gay, and you can’t support equal rights without also being willing to take a length up your chufter. You can’t be against an entire group simply on a whim, or because you feel you should. I swear the next time I hear someone using this excuse I’m going to slap them silly until they blame it on Jesus like the best of ’em. Neatly segueing into…
“It’s in the bible.” So. Fucking. What. I might as well come out and say it: I can’t stand the fucking bible, and I can’t stand those that blindly follow something and don’t ever question what it is they’re being told to believe. “Homosexuality is bad because it’s in the bible.” That doesn’t matter you shower of fucking cunts. Think about now, think about the real world. People like this often like to fly the flag of family values, roaring that somehow families will collapse because of two people of the same gender having sex. How many families do you know where the wife has run off with another woman, or the man with another guy? Most likely none. And those you do hear of will be in the paper once in a blue moon, where the offending party has most likely always been gay but was scared to come out until they couldn’t take it any more. In fact, going by the numbers, the far larger threat to family values is in fact heterosexuals. Think of all those affairs with the postman, the ten minute knee shakers at the office christmas party, the handsome man getting frisky with an unloved wife, the secretary putting in the overtime… Straight people fuck up families, gay people can only look on in envy at all the kids flitting between mum’s house and dad’s house. Those who hide behind a book are usually the biggest hypocrites. They’re the Tories screaming about traditional values right up until they’re caught with a rent boy, they’re the moral guardians bemoaning the breakdown of marriage yet refusing those desperate to show how committed they are to one another a chance to do so.
I realise I’m most likely preaching to the choir here, I doubt many of those reading this are against the idea, but I reckoned I’d have a rant anyway. Homophobia is one of those things that piss me off, simply because it makes no fucking sense. It all boils down to “just because” in the end.
